There’s still gold to be unearthed in Ophir, but its mainly remnants of the past that are being discovered, and not the shiny stuff. While Pitches Store was being restored, numerous relics were unearthed which are now on display within the floor of the cafe. Likewise, a recent clean up of the Ophir Peace Hall resulted in discoveries that are reminders of days past.
While Ophir doesn’t have a dedicated museum, Pitches Store and the Post Office both carry reminders of the past, as does almost every other building on the main street.
The Ophir Peace Memorial Hall has been used for dances, movies, celebrations and a community hub continuously since it’s construction in 1926. We’ll keep adding to this page as new treasures come to life.
