No, not Sam, local legend, but the dogs of Ophir. If you’ve heard the expression about a town that’s gone to the dogs, well, this just might be place. From working farm dogs to loyal companions of all shapes and sizes, it would seem most households in the village have at least 1 dog. Sam Leask, local farmer and 5th generation Ophir-ite (?) in the photo above (by Mike White) has more dogs than most, helping control the sheep he runs across multiple paddocks around the village.
